Mainly influenced by the sounds of R&B and Pop, 19-year-old Joaquin Caste's relatable lyrics and unique voice manage to undeniably evoke many emotions in the audience. Growing up singing and learning to play the piano at the age of 5, fast forward to now, his EP "Repetitive Thoughts" was released in early 2019.
The alternative EP takes you on an emotional journey, with Joaquin Caste’s raw, stylised vocals evoking emotion through honest but relatable lyrics. From infectious lead single ‘Return’, described by critics as “bold and sweeping electro-pop”, to minimalistic production styled ‘Hiding’, which earned the comment of being an “emotionally enthralling masterpiece to say the least”; the youthful musician holds the listener from start to finish of the full 4 track EP.
He gained features in magazines, music blogs, major newspapers and FM Radio Interviews (Pagina12, IndieHoy, SoraMusic & more) for his unique sound, alongside playlist features in major Spotify official and third-party playlists. In 2019, he continued his studies at Berklee College of Music in an intensive 5-week program, where he was selected to perform in the Berklee Performance Center.
Caste played his debut solo show in 2019, on Niceto Club (Years & Years, Troye Sivan, Alabama Shakes), gaining wide national press support from the likes of Pagina12, Indie Hoy.
A year later in 2020, Joaquin Caste was nominated to the ISC (International Songwriting Competition) in 3 different categories, got selected as a finalist and received an honourable mention (less than 1% of the songs, out of +18K entries) for his song “Escape”, from his latest EP “Repetitive Thoughts”.
